Nitrate Pollution

Turkey's economic growth in recent years and the rapid development of the agricultural sector have brought along significant pressures on surface and ground waters. The Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry takes the necessary steps to maintain the balance between natural resources, environment and agricultural activities. The General Directorate of Agricultural Reform takes precautions against all kinds of agricultural and non-agricultural threats that degrade and pollute agricultural fields. Likewise, it carries out studies to prevent and reduce the negative effects of agricultural activities on water resources.
